Complete One Time Registration (OTR): Before applying for the CDS exam, you must first register on the UPSC's One Time Registration (OTR) portal, if you haven't already.

Click on the "New Registration" tab and fill in your basic details, including name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.

An OTR ID will be generated. You can update details in your OTR profile within 7 days of registration.

Fill the Online Application Form:

Log in to your OTR account using your registered Email ID/Mobile Number or OTR ID.

Navigate to the "Latest Exam" or "Active Examinations" section and find the link for "Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2026".

The application process is in two parts:

Part I: Fill in your personal, educational, and communication details, and select your preferred academies (IMA, INA, AFA, OTA) and exam center.
