Answer. Applications for the UPSC Civil Services (IAS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) Pre-examination 2026 are open from February 4 to February 24, 2026, via upsconline.nic.in. Candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR), fill the online application form, upload documents (photo, sign, ID), and pay a ₹100 fee (exempted for SC/ST/Female/PwBD). 

Steps to Apply for UPSC 2026 (IAS/IFS)

1. Visit Official Website: Go to https://upsconline.nic.in.
2. One-Time Registration (OTR): Click "New Registration" to fill in basic details and create a profile if not already registered.
3. Part-I Registration: Log in using the OTR profile, select the Civil Services/IFS Examination 2026, and fill in personal, academic, and address details.
4. Part-II Registration:
   • Fee Payment: Pay ₹100 (if applicable) online or through SBI challan.
   • Exam Center Selection: Choose your preferred exam center for Prelims and Mains.
   • Upload Documents: Upload scanned, formatted photos, signatures, and a valid photo ID (PDF).
5. Final Submission: Review all entries carefully, as editing is restricted after submission. Submit the form and download/print the confirmation page.
